Re: Ever had a time as a GM when...

You just feel like you want to step down and play rather than host? With 20+ years as a GM, I have had more than my share of GM burnout, but I have to say that I do not leave the duty for long. My secret? I am a sucky player. I have known players who should never crawl behind the screen and I am co...

Re: Possible worlds/settings for OVA?

But, the reason for this post is to ask if there are any settings other than Uresia that have been planned/talked about/thought of for OVA. I have a few "one-page" setting pitches for OVA already and I am developing a conversion for one of my settings to OVA and developing a Sci-Fi settin...

If I'm to be completely honest, I don't really BELIEVE in experience. You just won my "Game Designer of the Year" Award. For what THAT is worth... I have always been skeptical of the need for Pavlovian assistance in getting players to play. A pal of mine is always tauting the XP sys...

The Eternal GM wrote:Here's Ryu after the power drop (basically knocking a score of every combat-relevant stat), he's pretty much the base-line in ability (being fairly good at everything).
That looks spot-on for a Ryu that is to be of sensei-level to the PCs. Now, Akuma should be up in the 5s for two or three things.

Re: Street Fighter Game

Respectfully submitted. Please do not take this as a criticism, but as a request for a step-back and re-evaluation of your original concept. I'm converting the World Warriors (Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile and E.Honda so far) and have found that in order to encompass the range of ability and power, some ...

Re: BESM - OVA conversion

Do this, and you can play your character in any RPG. Yep, and I hope we all agree this is usually a good thing. Usually... :? I did know a guy that had an astoundingly annoying character who managed to get copied over from game to game to game... ...I have been known to port a favorite character fr...

:!: Amazing Aside Alert! :!: Anyway, will OVA: Mecha also include special rules for Mecha-Musume? I am resisting the all-consuming urge to make a Morning Musume in space campaign setting now.... My twin love of Spacecraft and Morning Musume would lead invariably to some sort of "Galaxy A...

Try this for starters. I haven't taken much time to make stuff, but will as time allows.

I am really loving this game! :o

What was he trying to say? Enlightenment requires sacrifice. Sacrifice is nothing to one who knows that what is being sacrificed is an illusion. One must sacrifice the false to have the true, which is no sacrifice at all. When one falls into the illusion, seeing the sacrifice as real, as a true sac...

Re: BESM - OVA conversion

If I want variable point costs for abilities and I own BESM 1st, 2nd and 3rd edition is there a simple conversion factor for using this material? My two is this: "Convert the character not the stats ." That paradigm shift makes all the difference. You know what the character is all about ...

Re: Samurai house rule: Swift Stroke

...should it not be possible for this guy to execute a super sword swing at a group of opponents ... and succeed? Succeed fast, I mean? Fight in the same way as they fight in the movies? I think this is easily done by making a Power Move sword strike technique with the "Area Effect" perk....

...But really, what sort of rotting barrel relic from the 14th century's innards did you dredge for this inaneness? If you look a few inches below you (assuming you have your head out), you should see a flap. That flap opens and closes, with what one would imagine is a sound. You are right in repri...

This game has some serious rock-age! I love genre-benders and space pirates have instant appeal. I will, no doubt, be running a space pirate game very soon and will likely use OVA to do it. I will keep people posted, but wanted mainly to plug this game as a good jumping point for ideas...and eye can...

I am starting to convert my old FATE setting into an OVA setting to run some one-shots. I am doing this to help a pal get his supers game using OVA shaken down. He wants to see the system in action before developing NPCs, etc. I have to say that OVA strikes just the right tone in rules for me, jumpi...
