It is/was 6" x 9". However, Clay says here that he's thinking of going to A5 (5.8" x 8.3") with a dust jacket for the next edition.Hmmm, interesting. How big was the hardcopy of OVA that got sold via Print in Demand and through some stores?

Clay, this discussion on Encouraging the power-escalation-during-combat anime trope in RPG play on rpg.net seems like something you might want to mull over during the design process, since the matter he discusses is such a staple of shonen manga and anime.

Re: Making Mecha with OVA
I've just recently found OVA, and was looking through the rules and was wondering what was the best way to go about making mecha. I really like the idea of drama dice instead of experience -- it's an elegant solution to the problem of characters increasing in power in genres where they really shouldn't. You might also consider: Giving an occasional drama die for when a player really allows one of their disadvantages to inconve...

The translators for the Maid RPG hang out at www.storygames.com , and there's been a number of discussion threads about the game there. I have to admit I've been tempted to order it myself, but haven't been able to convince myself I'd ever run it. The question is, I guess, if it's worth getting just...

Thanks FoD. It's always interesting to see the cold, hard math. The mechanic itself was playtested quite a bit, but it wasn't created with true math in mind. It always pleases me to see that the progression is fairly linear. More than I expected from OVA's oddball way of handling things. :) It's no...
