Trying to figure out Raine

Hi I'm a new player, I'm trying to figure out the breakdown for Raine and how he is Base Zero, I keep going through the Ability and Weaknesses, but I keep coming up with a difference of +5 in Abilities.

Would someone be able to help me break down or explain how he's Base Zero?

Base Zero rules doesn't mean that the Abilities and Weaknesses have to equal out to zero, but within plus or minus a certain number. The number is determined by the GM, but the default is 5.

So normally a group of characters could have +22/-17 points (5 pt difference to 'zero'), +13/-16 (3 pt difference), +8/-4 (4 pt difference) and be relatively balanced.

For newbies or quick character creation, I recommend starting players with 15 points in Abilities and 10 points in Weaknesses.

This rule is REALLY not named well. It then goes on to explain that all of the sample characters use this rule...but none of them total to 0. Thanks for clearing this up.

This game looks great. Can't wait to get it to the table.
