Coments on OVA
Coments on OVA
I'm thinking of getting this game, but I notced a thread on rpg.net (http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=230173) that stated that this game isn't really an anime game. How would you guys respond to some of the stuff on the thread?

Re: Coments on OVA
I'd say that OVA, BESM, and Random Anime aren't really "anime" games per se, but rather simple rules-lite systems (almost like "toolboxes") that allow you to recreate the anime series of your choice or simply play a high-action or pulp-style game.Sadinotna wrote:I'm thinking of getting this game, but I notced a thread on rpg.net (http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=230173) that stated that this game isn't really an anime game. Regardless of what it "is" and what it may not be...OVA rocks and allows for a ripping good game.
I tend to view the clatter over at RPG.Net as a bunch of noise made by people that spend more time discussing games than they do playing them ... for the most part and with exceptions, of course.

Hmm... it just seems that to me, that guy probably dident even give the game a chance. He really dosent look like a credible source to me. I mean, WHO is HE to sit there, bash the system and not even give other potential players an honest opinion. This guy, being an avid d20 fan is probably not used to having a super light set of rules. I also think its funny how he sat there and asked that a game system teach him how to run an anime rpg like its a formula. Hey jerk, try watching some anime and then go back to d20. I guess that 4 hp mage really isnt capable of emulating an anime magician...
