Killing Time

Okay, I have to share this one:

I misread my schedule for work today and showed up FIVE HOURS EARLY. They didn't want me here then, so I had some time to kill. I bicycled over to my friendly local community college and went into the public lab.

Seeing it pretty much deserted, I sat down to print myself a copy of OVA. This takes a while. (132 pages!)

The total damage:

PDF Version of OVA: $9.95
Cheap plastic folder to carry it home in, because you don't have anything else to use: $0.97
Getting the printer to print a 43 meg PDF, double-sided: 2 1/2 hours.
Holding a hardcopy of OVA in your hands, and admitting how much of a geek you are: Priceless

Haha, thanks for sharing, Wanderer! It's good to see people making use of the high resolution. ^^ Everything turn out okay?

And more importantly, did you use your Art of Invisibility +5 to escape with no one noticing you just used 130 pages of paper and no telling how much ink without paying a dime? -.o

Everything came out fine in the end. The Lab Aide didn't care what I was doing, but some of the other lab patrons got annoyed. Thankfully the laser printer does double-sided without too much fuss.

Good deal. ^^ How about the size-ratio? The book is in digest (6x9) format...how does it look on letter paper? Or did you manage to procure the proper paper size?

It looks just fine on regular paper. Adobe automatically centered it on the page, which looks a little odd but okay. And the extra-large margins  give lots of room for the three-hole punch.
