Demoralized
Demoralized
Well despite my trying it seems like OVA can't get started here very well after 3 demos still nothing for players except 1... thus I have been demoralized

The problem with play-by-post, I think, is that there's no sense of immediacy. Also, the delivery just seems to be lacking overall. Gaming dialog isn't just between GM and players, or between NPC's and players, but between players and players as well. If you play by post, that player-player chat is reduced somewhat, I think, and if it doesn't, it slows the whole process down, anyway.solfuries wrote:I would totally love to get in on that, however I have never done the play by post thing, however rpol.net seems very promising.
The happy medium is probably IRC. Even if it's not the #OVA room on sorcery.net *coughshamelessplugcough* it takes out the hassle of travel, and I'm a more eloquent typer than talker, so there's that too.
(Note: #OVA is Bring Your Own Bot)
Joe_Mello: Could you make a common sense roll, please, Ryu?
Ryushikaze: With Smart?
Joe_Mello: Sure
*Ryushikaze rolls*
Joe_Mello: SHE'S DEAD!

agreed, I was just thinking of a way to wrangle several people who don't have anyone to play with, with an online medium so we could all play our game of choice.
IRC or rpol.net either way. I have seen a lot of stuff on rpol.net where there are requirements that everyone post at least once a day or something.
I think someone could design a more relaxed game, sort of slower paced, that you played at a once or twice a day pace. Sure it wouldn't have all the action of live gaming, or even IRC, but I think it would be a fun slower paced alternative.
