ConDuit Demos
ConDuit Demos
Hi all I am going to ConDuit in May and I wish to run OVA demos though out the weekend can everyone help to make some good demos for it? I am sure I can't do it alone so I all the help I can get. I am also a so so GM so I would also like all the tips I can get. Please help out if you can and thank you all. ^_^
If you can wait for the Starstone Treasure to become available again, it makes for a great demo. I ran it as a demo a couple of weeks ago, and everything went smoothly. I have thread here under "OVA N00b and Loving It", and I explain a little on how it went.
If you can't wait, putting together you're own demo isn't really that hard.
1. Advertise at the store you're going to run it at, assuming you have the owner's permission.
2. You seem to know a lot about anime/manga? Put together a simple scene or short scenario from one of your favorites. Keep it simple. It's suppose to be just a learning experience.
3. Have everything you think you're going to need prepared: dice, rules, NPC's, etc. Know the rules enough to teach them. I created pre-made characters for the players so I could get them quickly into the game and action. You may want to have them create their own characters; it's up to you. I'm not a great teacher. I rather have them play and learn as they go along. It worked for me, and my players quickly picked up the system and realized how cool it was.
4. Don't worry about making mistakes or referencing the rules too much. If you're unsure about something, quickly make it up. Apply a -1, -2, or +1, +2 modifier and move on. Try to rule in the player's favor. Remember, this is a demo, so technically you're "selling" them on the game.
5. Remember to have fun yourself. Don't take it too seriously. This needn't be a brain teaser. If you're relaxed, you're players will be relaxed too and go with the flow.
I hope this helps.

Any support is a lot of weight of my shoulders it mean there is a reason for why I am doing this. ^_^
I have until may 23 to get it and memorize it if they fix by then I am so getting it.
Well back to the topic for #1. it is a run down convention so the most I can do for advertising is saying I want to run it there and making the sign up page the flier for OVA or customize it but I am not good at drawing and I don't have any stuff on my pc for it (saving for collage).
#2. I watch quite a bit so the question is what one and how much can I copy? (know next to nothing about the law)
#3-5. No comments just a ball of awesome from those tips
