I am starting to convert my old FATE setting into an OVA setting to run some one-shots. I am doing this to help a pal get his supers game using OVA shaken down. He wants to see the system in action before developing NPCs, etc.

I have to say that OVA strikes just the right tone in rules for me, jumping out of my way to let me create while still having enough meat and bones to be a solid platform. I like "kits" that beg for cool and exotic settings and allow a GM to sketch together an NPC, Vehicle, Spell, etc with just a few moment's pause. Great job, Clay! :D

I will try and post things here as this project progresses and I hope to become more involved in OVA community as well.

My old campaign site can be found here. Sadly, I ran out of time for the episode guide, but we ran two seasons of the "show" (as well as a "movie" in echo of Firely/Farscape, which were a major influence on the tone of the game).

Look forward to hearing more about your game!

Speaking of kits...although I decided it was best to skip out on them for OVA, I was always fond of template systems like West End Game's Star Wars RPG. I guess it's how my overwhelmingly large collection of Sample Characters came about. There's some appeal to the ability to simply pick up and go, but yet have an array of choices to choose from.

Hopefully you guys agree, there's even MORE sample characters in the genre books. ;)
