For my space opera setting for OVA mecha, I've been having a difficult time seperating which characters get PC treatment (see Sample Characters in OVA) and which get NPC treatment (see Sample NPCs.)

Recently, I've considered ditching the distinction and making them all one or the other. What do you guys think? And of the two, which do you prefer?

well the distinction between NPC stats and PC stats for NPCs really only mattered when it came to screen time. the more they are to appear, then the greater chance they are treated like PC's. Just give the apathetic young pilots PC stats and everyone else NPC stats.

I think that in fact there's no meaning in separating the two "classes" of character, after all just by reading the character description and background it should be clear if they are the good guys or the bad no?
After all i'm sure that in the real world every person consider himslef as the PC! XD
