In regards to the Barbarian class, equipment-wise might I suggest a look at Shadversity's view of the scantily clad Barbarian and how to make it realistic and plausible?

My best D&D character was a drunken gnome barbarian. A 4.5 ft greatsword never looked so intimidating than welded by a 3.5 ft crazy drunk. He was originally going to be a halfling, but the gnome traits actually went better with thr build.

Well here's my interpretation of the Shinobi Hobbit/Half-ling. It's pretty bare bones since I'm horribly unfamiliar with the DnD setting.
Hobbit/Half-ling, Shinobi

(5 Points)
HEALTH: 20
ENDURANCE: 20
TV: 10
DX[END] - Attack
  • 2[0] - “Tantō” (Accurate. Weapon)
  • 3[0] - “Kodachi-style Ninjato” (Armor Piercing; Effective. Elaborate Gestures, Both Hands on Weapon; Weapon)
  • 1[0] - “Shuriken-like Object” (Accurate x3; Disarming; Ranged. Activation; Elaborate Gestures; Ineffective; Weapon)
  • 3[0] - “Do Crossbow” (Accurate; Armor Piercing; Effective; Impairing; Ranged. Activation; Ammunition; Elaborate Gestures, Both Hands on Weapon; Weapon)
Level - Ability
  • +1 - Agile
  • +3 - Art of Invisibility
  • +1 - Attack (Sword)
  • +2 - Combat Expert(Ninjitsu)
  • +2 - Knowledge (Throwing)
  • +1 - Quick
Level - Weakness
  • -2 - Awkward Size (Small)
  • -3 - Code of Conduct (Will Die Before Revealing Information)
And a quick question that's been bugging me for a little bit now. Since from the various interpretations of the Barrier ability, execution-wise it's less shields like this:
Image
And more shields like this:
Image
So would the actual physical shields be a form of Armored with flaws attached to them to signify that they're not, well, suits of armor or similar, or is it designed as something else?

Barrier can be interpreted as either physical shields or as magic/energy globes. A sword and shield warrior would have levels in Barrier.

What he said.

Also your half-ling looks good to me!

I guess I could go with that interpretation, though the notation of it allowing a character to block an indefinite amount of damage if one had enough endurance in addition to its default DX of 1 did give me a kind of whiplash.

As for the Half-ling Shinobi, it can easily be used as a placeholder for Goblins. Heck, one could go for Goblin Kouga vs. Half-ling Iga plot hook. Though I can only assume that for Goblins, a +2 of Bizarre Appearance at the very least would be required.
