Current games over at RPOL.net

Post by Beli »

Hey all.

I know it's been a while since I posted last, but I have been making some progress with OVA games on RPOL.net. The games are going pretty well so far (of course, there are only two players in each one), and there has been some good action and roleplaying in each.

However, both games are from other systems.

Jovian Chronicles is based on the Dream Pod 9 game by the same name. While I was going to use the DP9 system, the OVA made more sense. Of course, once these two climb into their mechs, I'm gonna have to wing things a little.

My second game Heroes of Varisia is based of Paizo Publishing's Pathfinder series titled Rise of the Runelords. There's a good mix of comedy, action and horror in store for the characters, and the players are both enjoying the ease of the system.

I have one more game in the workds, using the XCrawl setting as a base, called XCrawl: To Live and Die in the NAE. This game is going to need a few more players before it starts, but I think the OVA rules will work well for it too.

If you feel like it, take a look over them and let me know what you think. If I am doing something wrong, or if you have some suggestions, feel free to let me know. I love trying to bring new people to newer and easier systems, and I know one of my players has bought the game because of these forums. :D

Talk to you all soon!

I am also running a magical girl campaign at rpol.net and looking for two more players. The Title is OVA-High school Heroes.

The thought of Jiro in a magical-girl campaign is either terrifyingly brilliant or just plain terrifying.

Best of luck! It'll be interesting to see how well OVA performs in a play-by-post environment.

Ova does surprisingly well in PbP. It' can be hard to get going at first, but all tabletop to pbp games are like that.
