My best D&D character was a drunken gnome barbarian. A 4.5 ft greatsword never looked so intimidating than welded by a 3.5 ft crazy drunk. He was originally going to be a halfling, but the gnome traits actually went better with thr build.

My players once had a NPC who was a halfing paladin he was fun, If you want you can feel free to write up your "drunken gnome barbarian"!

Well here's my interpretation of the Shinobi Hobbit/Half-ling. It's pretty bare bones since I'm horribly unfamiliar with the DnD setting.

Barrier can be interpreted as either physical shields or as magic/energy globes. A sword and shield warrior would have levels in Barrier.

I guess I could go with that interpretation, though the notation of it allowing a character to block an indefinite amount of damage if one had enough endurance in addition to its default DX of 1 did give me a kind of whiplash.

As for the Half-ling Shinobi, it can easily be used as a placeholder for Goblins. Heck, one could go for Goblin Kouga vs. Half-ling Iga plot hook. Though I can only assume that for Goblins, a +2 of Bizarre Appearance at the very least would be required.

-3 Emotionless

-3 Dies with Master
-3 No Defense roll

And once you are done killing all those Beholders you can summon your very own Spectator who will guard a place for you for 101 years! All for the low price of 4 Beholder eye stalks!

-3 Focus (Eye stalks, Each stalk lost lose one eye ray power or attack.)
-3 Servitude (Bound to place for 101 years by summoner)

Here is something a little different a vampire race template!

Be careful when letting your players use one of these races as they are not balanced for normal players.

Vampires
Vampires gain scale on all physical abilities.
+1 Healer (Self only, Effective x2, Cancel: Taken holy/sun damage)
+1 Resistance (Unholy)
+1 Resistance (Physical attacks)
+1 Transformation (Mist)
+1 Transformation (Bat)
+3 Life Support (Undead)
-2 Obsession (Your choice)
-3 Vulnerability (Holy)
-3 Unique Weakness (Loses all vampire bonus and and takes 20 damage a turn in sunlight.)
-3 Unique Weakness (Takes 20 damage a turn in running water.)
-3 Vulnerability (Wooden stake)
-1 Accidental Transformation (Mist when Hp reaches 0)
-2 Unique Weakness (Can not enter a home without a invitation)

Transformation (Mist)
+1 Flight
+1 Incorporeal Form (Only sunlight can hurt you)
-1 Unique Weakness (Stuck in Incorporeal Form)


Accidental Transformation (Mist)
+1 Flight
+1 Incorporeal Form (Only sunlight can hurt you)
-1 Unique Weakness (Stuck in Incorporeal Form)
-2 Unique Weakness (Must return to resting place and heal for 1 hour)

Transformation (Bat)
+2 Flight
-1 Awkward size (Small)

Please note these are just for starting vampires for vampires of a higher power level please feel to level any of these abilities up. Here are some of the abilities a vampire may gain later.

Psychic
Minions (Bats/Rats/Wolves)

Bite Attack
Vampire +5, Feather Blow -5, If killed target becomes a vampire spawn under the vampires control the next night.

Vampire Spawn
A vampire Spawn is given free will on the death of its master. Also a Vampire spawn may become a vampire if its master gives it some of their blood (This frees the spawn of its servitude).
