I can only assume that the previous installment have no issues whatsoever gameplay-wise, so let's continue on with this installment.

Starting off, from the X-Com franchise we have-... Well let's call them sub-boses for lack of a better vernacular, the Ethereals.
Ethereal
Image
Image
The true leaders of the alien invasion, the Ethereals are the most powerful beings in the known universe in terms of psionic potential. Physically, they are frail and weak with many of their senses dulled, possibly as a consequence to their greater psionic abilities. Due to their importance, it is unsurprising that at least two Muton Elites accompany them.

Next up, from the failed Jericho franchise, we have the Crossbowman Crusader.
Crossbowman Crusader
Image
The crusaders that have slowly lost their minds to the influence of the Pyxis and corrupted to serve the First Born after being trapped in the new reality, the Crossbowman Crusaders have become religiously fanatic and will attack anything and anyone they perceive to be an infidel, such as each other. The Crossbowman Crusaders were the Sharpshooters of the medieval era and have kept their hands intact in order to utilize their prized repeater crossbow weapon that fire bolts with explosive warheads. They are, however, inadequate when it comes to hand-to-hand combat.

And lastly, from the Crysis franchise, we have the Ceph Shadow.
Ceph Long Range Units
Image
Though given the official designation of Charybdis, these alien creatures are more commonly known as Ceph due to their anatomical resemblance to cephalopods. An ancient extra-galactic species, the Ceph originate from the Triangulum Galaxy whose advanced nanotech-based technology and hive intelligence have allowed them to fully colonize not only their home galaxy, but also neighboring galaxies via incursions such as the Milky Way Galaxy through their rapid adaptation and reaction to the local planetary environment.

Commonly called “Shadow”, the Ceph Long Range Unit is one of many specialized variations of the Stage 2 Ceph for their invasion/colonization of a suitable planet and perfectly adapted to that particular biosphere largely through the assimilation of infected flesh by the aboriginal sapient species of said planet. Utilizing a specialized exo-skeleton to allow for greater movement under a higher gravity upon terrestrial environment, the Ceph Long Range Units serve as combat sharp shooters of the Stage 2 Ceph military. Though not as heavily armed nor armored as their Ceph Combat and Assault Unit brethren, these intimidating extragalactic beings are extremely fast and agile, though most notably to transverse terrain for a more advantageous sniper nest to support ground forces below. Their only weakness, a trait shared amongst many other Stage 2 Ceph, is the unarmored portion of their neck and upper back region where their true biological forms are the most vulnerable.

  • -3 - Servitude “Alpha Ceph”
  • -3 - Vulnerability “Exposed Ceph” (Neck/Upper Back)
  • -2 - Weak*

And that should be it for this installment. So until next time, do anyone feel comfortable with the idea of using these NPC mooks for their own campaigns or do they need some corrective tweaks?

Next up, for the Jericho Franchise, we have the Child Crusader.
Maltheus Crusader
Image
The angry spirits of Bishop Maltheus’ child crusaders, under the false belief that their purity of Christian innocence would protect them from harm in his crusade of Al-Khali against the Saracens, the Maltheus Crusaders haunted the very crypt to which the Crusaders have buried what remained of their mortal bodies. They are especially lethal due in no small part to their ability to change their incorporeal state into a corporeal one to deal lethal damage with their whip-like tendons and rapidly revert back when they receive too much damage in order to heal.

Largely charged with either protection of vital Ceph facilities or the pursuit of high value targets, the exo-skeleton is specially designed to be not only fast and agile, but armored as well with the ability to cloak and make them exceptionally fearsome enemies in any encounter. Their only weakness, a trait shared amongst many other Stage 2 Ceph, is the unarmored portion of their neck and upper back region where their true biological forms are the most vulnerable.

Though speaking of next time, I did mention that the next group I'll be converting would be the Lurkers of the Jak and Daxter franchise, but I'm wondering if there are other preferences? I had though of doing the Destiny Franchise starting with the Fallen, or perhaps try and do a conversion of the Zerg from the Starcraft Franchise, maybe perhaps even the Psuedo-Arachnids from the Paul Verhoeven interpretation of the Starship Troopers franchise? Either way, preferences anyone?

One of the first characters I attempted to translate into OVA was Sarah Kerrigan from StarCraft series, and I included the basic Zerglings and the heavy Ultralisk as sample minions. I don't know if I'd still have her designed the same now, but it might be worth a look.

Didn't you do some Jedi/Sith templates awhile back Mal?

As for Kerrigan, well at first glance she does fit her canon profile from both games (still going through Brood Wars myself, been a while since I played the N64 version), my only nitpick being the Zerg minions. The Zerglings would have benefited more with the Awkward Size Weakness since they're generally the size of a dog, not too sure with the Ultralisk if only because from that screen shot alone, it would appear that it would automatically have Scaled Advantage, though perhaps even smaller if the average Terran Mecha was of a larger scale. Not sure how to do the whole "Zerg Hivemind" thing other than either as Telepathic or a Unique with a flat bonus to reflect this.

Still, it's a good start to jump off from. And speaking of which, it would probably be a good idea to put in an index of hyperlinks to all the profiles categorized into franchises, though considering the number I've done it'll take me a good, long while.

According to the wiki, the ultralisk is 20 meters long and 5 meters tall. So, over 15 feet tall. I'd probably lower their Armor by 1 and change Attack to Strong +2, then add Tough +2 and use Scale to boost their Strength and Armor abilities.

Whelp, the new directory is up on the first post, and yes Mal did do a few templates for Star Wars. In particular Jedi, Sith, and Stormtroopers.

Were those what you had in mind, Blobathehutt, or something else?

Ninja-ed Edit: So the Ultralisk is slightly taller than a OYW Mobile Suit eh? Not enough to classify it as Awkward Size (Large) by a single level, but enough to know that it would qualify.

Speaking of which, which wiki article are you referring to in terms of the Ultralisk, Mal? when I went to the Starcraft Wikia, I got the Size "large".
