Well, another MonMusu episode has come and gone, so it's time for another subspecies entry. This time its for the Merfolk.

Yeah, I know, they say merMAID, but I figured that it'll probably be safe to assume that there are two different genders for that species.

First up is the Selachimorpha.
Yes, I know, they're called Sharks, but I'm giving some imagination in the naming of them here.
Selachimorpha (-1 Points)
Image Here (WARNING: Potentially NSFW!!!)
The Selachimorpha is one of numerous demi-humanoid species that were publicly revealed three years ago with the adoption of the Extraspecies Exchange Program sponsored by the UN. Largely a subspecies of the Merfolk, the Selachimorphais has more anatomical familiarity with sharks then they do with tropical fish which include razor sharp teeth. As one of the only carnivorous of the Merfolk subspecies, the Selachimorphais is psychologically more wild and aggressive due to their predator instincts and mentalities. However, their closer anatomical relationship with sharks has made them largely weaker physically in addition to their weaker states of mind.

Next up are the Amphidromous subspecies character template.
Again, I know, but Amphidromous sounds more imaginative and creative than "Fresh Water", so sue me- DON'T!!!
Amphidromous (5 Points)
Image
The Amphidromous is one of numerous demi-humanoid species that were publicly revealed three years ago with the adoption of the Extraspecies Exchange Program sponsored by the UN. Largely a subspecies of the Merfolk, the Amphidromous are regular migrators of ocean water and river water and are thus highly resistant to the change in water salinity. This along with their stoic mentality towards difficult obstacles such as raging waterfalls or fierce rapids have made their bodies slim and toned compared to the average Merfolk. However, their body colors are more muted.

Well, another episode of MonMusu has past and you all know what that means: MORE SUBSPECIES!!!
This time its the Arachne.

Ugh..... never been a fan of spiders, especially in the research of real spiders. Sorry Ranchee...

Anywho, first up are the Salticidae.
Okay, they're officially called "Small Breeds", but let's try to put in some kind of originality here people...

Largely a subspecies of the Arachne, the Salticidae are smaller than the average Arachne with equally short legs. However, this gives them greater running speeds, jumping distances with equal amount of bodily energy to meet it. Unlike the Arachne, the Salticidae largely hunt for prey upon the ground and their silk is largely to ensure that they do not encounter major harm or injury when they fall from great heights.

Again, sounds alot better than "Long Legs Breed".
Pholcidae (5 Points)

The Pholcidae is one of numerous demi-humanoid species that were publicly revealed three years ago with the adoption of the Extraspecies Exchange Program sponsored by the UN. Largely a subspecies of the Arachne, the Pholcidae are unlike other Arachne subspecies in that they are unable to produce silk. Instead their long and thin legs allow them to cross distances very quickly to catch prey. However, their hunting instinct is so strong that they will willingly forsake captured prey for new targets. Though psychologically mild-mannered, their uncompromised regard to the extermination of household pests that resulted from such a hunting instinct that those who suffer from such infestations affectionately nickname these Pholcidae “Sergeants”.

And finally, we have the Theraphosidae.

The Theraphosidae is one of numerous demi-humanoid species that were publicly revealed three years ago with the adoption of the Extraspecies Exchange Program sponsored by the UN. Largely a subspecies of the Arachne, the Theraphosidae are far larger than the standard Arachne with thick legs and covered in hair. Well, it's that time of the week. Another episode has come, aired, and gone, and it's time for more subspecies shenanigans.

But first, a few minor announcements. First, I've given each subspecies template an image of their own, either published or link. That way it's easier for one to visualize them.

Second, and this deals directly with the subspecies of the week. Well.... apparently they're now calling Manako's species NOT Cyclops, but rather "Monoeyes". So said species template has been edited.

Speaking of which, first up is the PROPER Cyclops.
Cyclops (4 Points)

Largely a subspecies of the Monoeye, the Cyclops had appeared in Greek mythology as primordial giants. In truth, the Cyclops are just unusually larger versions of the Monoeye whose giant eye allows them to accurately gauge the temperature of fire and iron which is the primary source of their unique smith work and metal craftsmanship.

Blackbeard (1 Point)

The Blackbeard is one of numerous humanoid species that were publically revealed three years ago with the adoption of the Extraspecies Exchange Program sponsored by the UN. Largely a subspecies of the Monoeye, the Blackbeard possess powerful eye abilities that range from hypnosis, blinding light, to even a laser-like optical blast from their eyes. However, due to their immature-like physical structure they are treated like children by others outside of their species, much to their chagrin. In fact, it is due to this that they have a high amount of suspicion and any form of kindness will cause the Blackbeard to automatically accuse the individual of a Lolita complex and retreat very quickly.

I don't get the name choice......

Oh! I almost forgot a new Ability.
Hypnosis – You have the ability to change someone’s mind, suggest them to do or say things that they normally wouldn’t even attempt! Oh sure, it has crossed their minds more than once but they’re never one to act upon such an impulse. To perform a successful hypnosis, add your Hypnosis Level to your Dice Roll against the defense roll of your target (who is able to use either their Iron-Willed or Weak-Willed dice) plus any modifiers that would change the outcome due to the nature of the hypnotic suggestion.

Hypnosis Type - Modifier
  • Change of Thought [+2]
  • Blatant Lie [0]
  • Mild Distasteful Action [-1]
  • Distasteful/Undesirable Action [-2]
  • Highly Distasteful/Undesirable Action [-3]
  • Exceptionally Distasteful/Undesirable Action [-4]
And that should be it. So until next time.

To a point, but Hypnosis is largely more specialized and doesn't require one to be able to read minds, and thus has a higher margin of error and dramatic sense.

That and the Blackbeard isn't psychic, just able to hypnotize through their eye. Figured that Psychic wouldn't fit the mold that well.

As such, they are only able function outside of such spaces during cold, winter months. Additionally, due to the imperfect preservation technique, their brains are not intact which gives them an easy-going personality and the overall energy level of an individual who had just awoken from sleep.

This can be performed alternatively through the consumption of life force from young men to preserve their natural beauty, but this is considered a placebo at best. Due to many such Mummies being of noble or royal origins, they often have difficult personalities.

What? Did you expect the reboot version? This is MonMusu we're talking about here. We make the squick logic come during fridge time

Anyway, that'll be all this week. Let's see what next week brings us. So until then, feel free to get the closest brain bleach.

Re: Extraspecies Exchange Program (Pictures Potentially NSFW

Post by Sabersonic »

Well, it's been another week, another episode has aired. So here's this week's batch of subspecies.

This time it is of the Ogre. But before we go on, this week's subspecies, like last week, requires a correction. That being the Oni.

Why the change? Well two reasons really: One is that the Oni has its own species template image, and second is that the Oni are actually larger than their initial portrayal of the manga when they were written. Thus, they have an overall template cost of 1 point.

Anyway, onto the two species templates of this week. Let's start it off with the Troll.
Troll (4 Points)

The Troll is one of numerous humanoid species that were publicly revealed three years ago with the adoption of the Extraspecies Exchange Program sponsored by the UN. Largely considered a subspecies of the Ogre, the Troll is larger and stronger than the standard Ogre who are, in turn, larger and stronger than normal humans. As such, they have issues with wearing clothing, let alone fashionable attire. Both male and female Trolls have massive limbs and muscular bodies with protruding lower canines and a pair of stubby horns upon their heads.
