Does Intuitive and Smart Stack?
Does Intuitive and Smart Stack? I had a player try to use both while casting a spell.
Re: Does Intuitive and Smart Stack?
I’m sure there’s some situation where you can justify stacking the two, but generally I would not.
In the case of Arcane Magic, it really depends on how you want to portray magic. If it’s a complicated and mysterious art that requires years of study to do right, no amount of intuition is going to help. On the other hand, if you want a scrappy wet-behind-the-ears hero to put the magical pieces together and somehow make magic work, then Intuitive will suit just fine.
But by and large they’re really different approaches to a problem. You either know how a thing works (you use your learned knowledge) or you have a knack for figuring it out on your own (you use your insight)
Compare it to overcoming a boulder in your way. You can use Strong to smash the boulder, or you can use Agile to jump over the boulder, but it’s difficult to apply both Strong and Agile to the same attempt.
