with the complete book now in our grubby little hands, i thought it would be interesting to get a Final Fantasy themed thread going. post yer monsters, jobs, spells, weapons, whatever here for a FF OVA one stop shop.
These classes are assumed that PC's get 10 dice to create an initial character, and these templates come out of that. i tried to keep them as equal to one another as i could.
Fighter:
- Tough X2
- Skill: X2 (either swodsmanship, polearms, clubs or empty handed)
- Armor X1
- Combat expert X1
- 4 free dice the player can allot as he chooses.
Archer:
- Quick X2
- Tough X1
- Skill: Archery X2
-Skill Survival X2
- 4 free dice to allot as the player chooses.
Thief:
- Quick X1
- Dexterous X2
- Art of invisibility X2
- Skill: Thievery X2
- 4 leftover dice the play can allot as he chooses.
Monk:
- Strong X1
- Tough X2
- Combat Expert X2
- Acrobatics X1
- 4 leftover dice the play can allot as he chooses.
Blackmage
- Black Magic Spells (attack X2, multiple targets X1)
- Arcane Magic X2 (cannot be used to create any form of healing effect)
- Skill: Lore X2
- Smart X1
- 4 left over yadda yadda
White Mage
- Cure Spells (Healing X2, ranged X1)
- Arcane Magic X2 (cannot be used to create any form of attack effect)
- Skill: Medicine X2
- Iron Willed X1
- 4 leftover dice
Summoner
- Minion X3 (levels stacked into one creature, summonable)
- Arcane Magic X1
- Tough X2
- 4 leftover dice
Red Mage:
- Arcane Magic X3
- perceptive X2
- Vital X2
-3 leftover dice.
Blue Mage
- Tough X2
- Iron Willed X2
- Mimic X2 (2 die pool that can be spent to mimic levels in an ability of a monster the mage has defeated in the past.)
- 4 leftover dice
Time Mage:
- Time Freeze X2
- Arcane Magic X1
- Perceptive X1
- Iron Willed X1
- 6 leftover dice.
Dark Knight:
- Combat Expert X2
- Armor X2 (item)
- Lifedraining strike (attack 2, vampiric)
- 4 leftover dice
Holy Knight
- Tough X2
- Healing X1
- Combat Expert X1
- Armor X2 (item)
Dragoon
- Tough X2
- Combat Expert X1
- Jump X2
- Quick X1
- Lance (attack 1, item, effective, biuldup X1)
- 3 leftover dice.

Nicely done. Only issue I have and it's nothing that you could have done, is how do you model the Dark Knights reliance on being damaged to do more damage. The less health, the more damage he does, to clarify.
Also, am I to believe that you don't think that the Samurai or Ninja class should exist? (Don't care either way.)

Looks great! I always love template approaches to characters, and these look really easy to apply to any concept you might have. One note, though: Acrobat no longer exists in the final version of the game. It’s been replaced/combined with Agile.
If you wanted to model the “low HP > great damage” attribute of some appearances of the Dark Knight, you could always use the Break Ability Flaw that requires your Health to be depleted.
