For Weaknesses, I've always had a soft-spot for Naive and Kind-Hearted just because I really like the examples I wrote for them. :D Ability is tough, but I'd have to settle with Attack. I'm just immensely happy with how it turned out and how flexible it is for handling the sort of cinematic fisticuf...

Another avenue for something like this is to take Transformation and use Human Arsenal (rename it something fanciful like "Hundred Spirits" or whatever) to allow you to create any number of permutations you want. In this way, you can define more exactly what each animal can and can't do.

That's pretty impressive! It took a lot of effort to recreate the layout of the actual book. I wish they spoke English so they could drop by the forums and share more about their game.

Debatably "Affinity" is already a zero-cost Perk that can add some fiery effects to an Attack. If you mean like giving an "Effective" or something to that effect for free, I don't see an issue as long as all the players are getting similar bonuses—and that you aren't afraid to gi...

The game assumes most characters are going to have +1 Attack or a similar Ability if you plan on doing any fighting worthy of a Perk or Flaw. But it is a small loophole that, as written, without one these Perks have no effect.

I had the rudiments of a tactical add-on for OVA , using a grid-based map and a few Final Fantasy Tactics -style Perks and Flaws. In fact, the Strike-Through Perk in Revised OVA is a result of that. This might be going a little bit outside the box, but you could use Barrier to achieve this effect by giving it Effective. I realize Barrier calls to mind energy fields and the like, but there's no reason it can't be much less flashy and just represent the defender's skin/blood.

You may want to take a look at "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in the Dungeon?" It features a similar premise with adventurers gaining favors by making contracts with gods and goddesses and might give you a few ideas of how to apply the idea in a prototypical "anime" way.
