Re: How does Refooting work?
Refooting is a free action. The "cost" is the fact you have to keep the result, even if it's worse.

Re: G+ Community
Nice! I've always meant to expand OVA's web presence into the Google+ realm (especially since RPG folks seem to be a large part of their userbase), but I honestly have a hard time keeping track of the social venues I ALREADY have for Wise Turtle.
I hope people find it useful!

Re: First Impressions and suggestions.
Sorry Plastic Avatar, I think I missed your 6 day window by a bit. I hope you've found the game pretty easy to learn even without advice! But in case you still want it, I think focusing on the Combat chapter will do you the most good. It's by far the most fiddly part of the game, but the concepts us...

Re: OVA homebrew setting & scenario
Hello Yachi! I knew I had seen your files before, but I didn't realize it was because you posted it here! Welcome back, and please, feel free to post here as often as you like. You English is just fine! And ah, I see! I used InDesign myself. The original edition from 2005 was done in Quark...which i...

Re: Mecha Anime (Pilot vs Mecha abilities)
The easiest method is to just stack rolls. As long as contests are mecha vs. mecha, then no real adjustment needs to be made. If you plan to use a lot of Difficulty Numbers, there may be some merit to buffing those numbers higher—but I think people expect mecha to be awesome. If they just posessed h...

It's always great to see actual plays of OVA! I had seen a couple of these, but one was completely new to me.

Re: New player, One-on-One play questions
Welcome to the forums! I hope you've been having a lot of fun with your book by now. :) The vast majority of the games I've played in my life have been one-on-one, and I think a lot of OVA's design sensibilities reflect that. Especially with the Revised Edition, characters can have a lot of options ...

Re: 4 Color comic book super heroes!
The original OVA had similar limitations on what a characters were allowed to roll for. (ie. you required certain levels of Strong to even attempt certain tasks) But in the end, it was one of the first things to go in the Revised Edition. The reason? Because the same rationale can be pretty much app...

Re: Strong OP?
Well, keep in mind OVA is a narrative system at heart. Objectively there's a lot of Abilities that are just demonstratively more useful than others. (Shall we compare Agile to Cute in the context of combat?) But to play devil's advocate a bit, here's a few reasons Strong isn't necessarily better tha...

Re: Hand-Drawn Character Sheets
I can't tell you how much I love these sheets! The iconography for everything is brilliant—from the ! TV to the sweatdrop Endurance to the die-shaped Roll. I know this is geared towards your fantasy campaign, but the chubby little stars and hearts make me want to abscond with it for some magical gir...

Re: OVA updated on roll 20?
I wasn't even aware OVA had a sheet for roll20! Do you have any links or screen captures of this? (I've admittedly never used roll20, despite having an account.)

Re: More Robust Spells
Interesting! I'm not overly familiar with Magicians, but it's always neat to see people using OVA for non-anime things!
Just a side note, your "Selective Target" is similar to Cancel, just it defines what is included instead of excluded.

Re: First Impressions and suggestions.
I appreciate your enthusiasm, but there's no official way to publish licensed OVA content at this time. Perhaps when I finally finish a few of the supplement books (and thus, set a precedent for how they should be), it's something I could revisit. Best of luck with your gaming channel, and feel free...
