You only need to take an action to defend against attacks with the Rapid Strikes perk (pg. 71). Otherwise, you roll normal defense against all other attacks...except if you're countering (pg. 81), or doing a Kamikaze strike (pg. 82)...or a Don't Hurt Me maneuver (pg. 83)...you get the idea ~_^ Hope ...

Yes, they could lose their next action, but my players didn't want to. Any other character could, yes, but the example characters didn't want to. Understood, but I think they missed a chance for some real heroic fireworks. :wink: My only point was that it takes only one of them to finish the deal.....

You can't Counter in this example because, technically, countering is a Defense action, and they've already acted this round. (thus, forgoing their ability to have a defense action due to the Rapid Strikes attacks). Couldn't they just lose their next action to take the defensive action of counterat...

This topic has been brought up before, but I can't seem to find where ^_^;;

In essence, unless a vehicle expends Endurance in a round, it can be assumed to perform a Recovery Action.

I'll see if I can find the thread where this was discussed, and put up a link.

As an afterthought, if a character finds, loots, purchases, etc. a weapon and frequently uses it, it's a good idea to reduce their XP gain to sufficiently "buy-off" the acquisition of the Weapon ability. It might not happen in one fell swoop, per se...even if you hold back just 2XP per ses...
