Scum's Wish
Has anybody been watching/reading this? Lately I've kind of had a thing for shows with broken romance and irresponsible or otherwise unhealthy relationships, and as a result Scum's Wish made my all-time Top Five list by the third episode. It's almost painful to watch, but I can't stop. http://rs129....

Re: Kingdom Hearts?
Also don't forget the Keyblade's primary function: the ability to unlock worlds.
(Okay, that can probably be a narrative quality as well, but I just like how "big" that power sounds.)

Re: Heroes TV series
It can be. The draw of OVA lies in its versatility. Most any fictional character you can think of can be generated with relative ease by picking out what they're good at, what they're bad at, and what they're average at. The difficulty you're going to find is probably going to be in regard to develo...

Re: make a OVA video!!
I wouldn't imagine anything top-budget like Geek & Sundry's Titansgrave, and it'd probably work best as a one-off special, but the worst that could happen is it'd get turned down. I think it'd be fun if something OVA-related showed up on their channel.

Re: #Pokemon20 Ash & Misty
Thanks! I should really get around to adding a few. I've been so busy with real-life RPG-related stuff that I'd forgotten all about this post.
I really want to try doing characters from a few more of my favorite series and games, just out of appreciation for the game's flexibility.

Re: make a OVA video!!
The sad thing is that we know most of the cast of Critical Role would probably have a blast doing an anime-themed adventure, given their shared background in anime dubbing.

Re: OVA goes dark
I have some friends who will be very excited to play in said certain magical girl anime setting.Clay wrote:It’s modified from some rules I made for a certain magical girl anime that shares themes with the show you described. They might pop up on the blog in a few weeks, maybe!

#Pokemon20 Ash & Misty
Happy Pokémon Day! In honor of the 20th anniversary celebration, I decided to draw up stats for Ash and Misty as they were in the opening chapters of the anime series. Brock will come later, once these two have made their way through the Viridian Forest. Enjoy! ASH Ash Ketchum of Pallet Town dreams ...

Re: School Drama Mechanic: Anxiety
I don't know about this. It seems a little too neurotic, for even anime standards... Like I said, I had just finished watching School Days when writing this, and the intense themes of that show definitely affected the final product. But I do feel the basic concepts here, though phrased a bit more d...

This is an excellent idea! I've got no skill in this, but I would definitely be interested in printing out some copies for player reference.

School Drama Mechanic: Anxiety
I've been dabbling in OVA campaigns that take place during high school, the setting of many slice-of-life stories. Unlike "traditional" role-playing games, however, the conflicts faced by characters in school dramas are rarely martial in nature. Students' struggles are more about emotional...

Re: Job/Class System?
I feel as though a setting like FFT's (or one designed to evoke the same feeling) depends on the existence of a Job System. It's just tol intrinsic to do without. Though I agree that it would be difficult, if not impossible, for this to work properly through OVA without overhauling a lot. OVA is des...

Re: Short review...
I feel the heart of the issue is that anime is not a genre , as the OP suggests, but a medium. And within that medium are many diverse genres, each with its own set of tropes and themes that can be mixed and matched to create an infinite number of unique stories and settings. Take this excerpt from ...
